How will the law on transitional justice solve the problems of residents of the occupied territories?

5 April 2021 | Judiciary , Justice , RJRC
Every day, residents of the uncontrolled part of Donbas face a large number of challenges. Non-recognition of "documents" issued at the place of residence. In addition, the future of the people along the line of demarcation is unclear: who is amnestied and who will be punished after deoccupation? Who will compensate for the damage caused by the conflict? All this should be resolved by the law on transitional justice. What should be considered before its adoption, tell the coordinator of the Donbas Regional Council for Justice Reform Olena Fonova and national expert of the EU Project Pravo-Justice Alyona Lunova.
