EU Project Pravo-Justice is Starting the Development of an Information System to Facilitate International Judicial Cooperation of the Office of the Prosecutor General
With the support of EU Project Pravo-Justice, Forsego Ukraine is starting the development of an information system to automate the processes of international judicial cooperation of the Office of the Prosecutor General. The new system is called EXILA.
According to Tinna Goletiani, Fighting International Crime Sub-Component Lead of EU Project Pravo-Justice, digitisation is an integral part of the justice system reform in Ukraine and Ukraine’s European integration path.
"Development of modern e-tools, such as EXILA, is an important step towards effective international judicial cooperation, which is in line with best European practices," she said.
The implementation of EXILA will contribute to the effective processing of requests for international legal assistance and extradition, the harmonisation of international judicial cooperation processes with EU procedures, and interaction with international institutions and Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
The system will provide for:
- storage and systematisation of information on international cooperation within the framework of criminal proceedings;
- quick search for related data, including archival information;
- automation of processing requests for international legal assistance and extradition in accordance with established requirements;
- monitoring compliance with deadlines and procedures for international judicial cooperation;
- analytical tools for processing large volumes of information.
"EXILA is a powerful digital tool that will significantly accelerate the exchange of information and increase the efficiency of international judicial cooperation in criminal matters. We are working to ensure that the system meets the highest standards of digital security, is user-friendly, and integrates into existing processes facilitating efficiency and reliability of law enforcement agencies," added Ruslan Pakhomov, Managing Partner of Forsego Ukraine.
